Voodoo Crimes

Voodoo Crimes by Alexandra Cole

Voodoo is a religion that celebrates sex as a vital component of human nature. Far from the popular image of curses and dolls with pins sticking into them, the triumph of good over evil may be as important to many of its followers as the aspects of evil and mischief that undoubtedly are also present.

Rona Strand is the newly elected chief prosecutor in New Orleans, but an investigation into political corruption leads her deeper and deeper into the world of Voodoo, and towards a perilous confrontation with an apparently immortal Voodoo sorceress hired by the state governor to discredit the prosecutor. Using exotic beauties as living Voodoo dolls to transmit pain and ecstasy at embarrassing moments, the sorceress makes it impossible for Rona to carry out her role.

Police detective Deacon Purdue works undercover for Rona, but he too is drawn into the world of Voodoo, entering a sexually charged relationship with a woman whose ancestry proves key to the victory of Voodoo’s benevolent aspect over evil.
